《流竄座標4》 -- 姚仲涵 《Scattered Coordinates 4》-- Chung-Han Yao

「資訊充滿 我喜歡站著看它如狂風與大海一般 浪費著」

我認為今天的生活已經不再是 資訊爆炸 的狀態,或許我出生的年代,資訊依舊爆炸,但當我有意識的時候,我不曾感到資訊爆炸的威力。我比較喜歡用「資訊充滿」來形容今日的生活, 「資訊爆炸」似乎比較焦慮,而「資訊充滿」則有另一種態度。

聲 音、光、位置,為這件作品最重要的元素,這三種不成比例的關係特別令我著迷。我們的視覺可以輕易的辨認光的出現與消失,有些人的身體會被這流竄的視覺所迷 惑,感到暈眩或頭痛。聲音是最容易被忽視的元素,可能是我們的身體太習慣去「看」一個聲音,忘記去「聽」一個視覺。聲音與視覺的想像無關,聲音是一種與光 無關的聽覺回憶。

燈光被我視為一個表達資訊的訊號,如電腦上的LED或是汽車的煞車燈與方向燈….等等,但是日光燈的訊號卻是失效的,日光燈對我而言是一個太有個性的光,他的亮起時間是依照自己的物理條件所影響,他所發出的聲音來自他點亮過程的震動,沒有定律、沒有規矩。

視覺是緊張的,而聽覺是相反的。

“Information saturation… I like to stand and watch information go to waste; like watching a strong wind blow or wild waves.”
I believe that the age of information explosion is over. Maybe because I was born in the middle of this explosion, I was not around before or at the time of an explosion to recognize its impact. I’d rather use the term “information saturation” to describe the way we live today. There is way too much anxiety associated with an “information explosion,” whereas “information saturation” creates a different emotional response.

Sound, light, and orientation are key elements in this work. Varying the ratios between these three elements intrigues me. Our visual capabilities enable us to effortlessly distinguish between the absence or intensity of light so much so that for some people, rapid changes in intensity of light can cause disorientation or even headaches. “Sound” is easy to ignore, maybe because we forget to watch for sound, like we forget to listen for vision. Sound is absent from our visually-dependant imagination; our sound-memories are completely unrelated to light.

Light, for me is a signal through which information is transmitted; for instance, LEDs on a computer, or brake lights and indicators on an automobile, etc. But this rule doesn’t apply to fluorescent lighting. For me, fluorescent lights have too much personality. This type of lighting has its own set of physical laws; the noise it makes is a part of its own process of powering up, and has no controllable governing rules.
Vision creates tension, whereas sound does the opposite.

在記憶中… 林冠名 In the Memories of … Guan-Ming Lin

如今,資訊已為我們所熟悉的事物劃出一道清晰界線,這一道界線如「信我得永生」般地宣判一切… 可以選擇「逃逸」,並非等同畏縮不前或背道而馳,不過是為了在宣判的夾縫中得以暢快…
對我而言,偶然發生在我眼前的事情總是比一切計畫完美來得美妙… 某日傍晚,在臺灣雲林與嘉義交界的河堤外海,偶然瞧見一只漁網飄蕩於海面之上, 這只漁網劃破風平浪靜,隨風盪漾在半空之中許久,接著又沒入大海… 內心的悸動為這只漁網所牽動, 在幾次飄蕩及沉沒的過程後,最後不再復見蹤影, 最後面對一片寧靜的汪洋… 我才驚覺我應該試問剛剛飄蕩在半空的是為何物? 如此意味著這「是為何物」早已不以「漁網」現身在我眼前…
我選擇在這「是為何物」中逃逸一切宣判…
自由最終也不過如此。

Nowadays, information has drawn a clear boundary for what we are originally familiar with. This boundary has certainly, as the saying “all who believe shall have eternal life”, pronounced everything to us… We can choose to “walk away”, but not showing flinch or even against the idea; we just simply want to delight ourselves beneath the “pronouncements”.

For me, an incidental scene is always more brilliant than what has been planned perfectly... Someday in the evening, I occasionally saw a piece of fishing net flowing above the sea outside of the boundary between Yunlin and Chiayi in Taiwan. This fishing net broke the peace, flowing in the air for a while, and then sank into the ocean.
My heart was beating for the net as it was flowing up and down for many times until it gradually disappeared… I was left with a piece of silent sea in the end. At the moment, I was astonished and questioned myself what “That” was, which meant this “That” did not appear as a piece of fishing net in front of me anymore…

And “That” took me away from all the “pronouncements”…

After all, freedom is never more than that.

隙間 From the Narrow Passages - 黃亞紀 Ya-Chi Huang

「隙間」這系列完成在2001年,是我在日本創作的第三個系列作品,但即便到了今天,我仍認為作品並未完全表述我對於「full but empty, empty but full」的概念,某種程度是一篇未講完的故事。

「full but empty, empty but full」源自對於感情的體認,留學生活是快樂且孤獨的,尤其在感情生活上不能預知最後的結果,可說這句極具哲理的探討,其實只是來自20多歲青春的牢騷;但在自我提出之後,才發現如此生活性的感受,其實可以推展成思想和藝術領域的表現,聲音、視覺、空間、光線,無不是構成此奇妙次元的可能。

「隙間」是這個理念的實驗,我讓來自生活的體認回歸到生活纖細的場景,在那些我們不曾注意的各種隙縫中間,我提示某種存在。這些被強調的隙縫,猶如生活在黑暗中突然被射燈打亮、來到舞台中間;其實,「隙間」也反映出那些身處異鄉的日子中,那些無法入睡的寂靜夜裡,當視覺習慣了黑暗,卻在其中發現更為黑暗的隙縫-它或許是一個通道,通往一個未知的somewhere else;那些被我照亮的隙縫,或許代表了我對於更為黑暗的嚮往。

之後,我看過不少對於「full but empty, empty but full」相關的表現,我甚至忘了我曾經如何以「隙間」去表達,直到今年汝慧同我再把這套作品拿出來時。即便到了今天,「隙間」仍是套很美的作品,雖然它未能把那個想法講到極致,但卻真的是我旅居日本幾年不可取代的記憶。

From the Narrow Passages series was created in 2001 as my third series in Japan. Even till today, I still feelI have not expressed my thinking about “full but empty, empty but full” completely. In a way, it is a story unfinished.

“full but empty, empty but full” came to my mind when I studied in Kobe. The life living abroad is cheerful but lonely, especially it is hard to find a promised relationship. Therefore, this philosophic phrase is a sentimental statement rather than a rational consideration in the beginning. But after bringing up it, I found it can be extended into the expression of arts as well. The mystery can be interpreted in sound, vision, space, light and etc.

From the Narrow Passages is the experiment of this idea. I bring the understanding of life back to the tiny detail of my daily scene. I found the narrow seams which we usually pay no attention to and emphasized them by lighting them up. From the Narrow Passages can be seemed as my diary of nostalgia as well - there were always some nights I cannot fall asleep. When the eyes were used to the darkness, I found the darkest things are the seams and stared them. They might be the passages to somewhere I don’t know. They are the symbol I yearn for the darkness.

Till now, I saw lots of works approaching “full but empty, empty but full”. I admired them and even forgot how I have expressed the same idea by From the Narrow Passages. If curator Emma didn’t ask me to show these works, I definitely wound not remember. Even till today, From the Narrow Passages is still a very beautiful series. Although it is a story unfinished, it is my recollection of the youth.

那光 BLINK 11/22/2008-01/18/2009

苑裡十一月秋末的大風翻騰著金黃稻浪,像是在進入光照時數開始減少的冬季之前,起舞紀念台灣這一年的經歷。
金枝藝術的策劃展「那光」為這一年提供了一個空格、一個休止,邀請人們在作品前面或是在作品裡面,用呼吸、用靈通、用身體的移動去感知光的存在,邀請人們除了娛樂之外,還能在光的存在裡專心,在專心裡重新得力。

李俊陽以水墨和燈管在黑盒子裡舖置了彷彿有儀典的空間。黑光水墨吸納了足夠的光,一旦空間充滿了黑暗,甫在光裡所等待的以及所醞釀的便會開始绽放鮮彩繁花。那花的鮮豔色彩不屬於日光也不屬於黑暗,它們存在於一個必須透過真誠才得召喚出來的隱匿世界。

每個閃爍的光點都是神諭。李艾晨在鋁板上滑移的油墨,似乎呢喃著對上帝的敬畏,似乎也看見了她試圖在不斷來回的刷擠中,去交會裂天而降的神的光芒。

黃亞紀在日常物件裡藏匿詭譎的光,好像在一切靜止的平凡中無端騷動著什麼。看起來既是無聲的,卻又私語著什麼;看起來是無人存在的,卻又暗示著某種在場;看起來是靜止的,卻又不那麼地安靜。

過多的延長使得時間感消逝了,還剩下什麼……。林冠名始終保持著一種冷調的詩性,不陳述什麼,不解釋什麼,用一種古典的質感讓冰冷的機械影像累積、溫存觀者的溫度,用不經意的速度。

The third exhibition “Blink” invites people to interact with multiple media art works. We introduce you to experience the being of light itself by your breath, your body movement and your spirit. It is not only for your entertainment, but also for your concentration with light.

Jiun-Yang Li uses black light and growing in the dark ink to draw enough illumination in order to summoning the invisible mysterious world.

What left when the time goes by… Guan-Ming Lin always keeps a poetical tone to his work. Using a kind of classical texture to apply on the cold digital image and it attracts the audience’s participation gradually.

Light becomes a concrete thing from Chung-Han Yao’s installation. Thus we can see its reaction from our movements; we can hear light itself through the sound.

呂東興台南個展-為愛走天涯

呂東興的駭俗陽具恐龍這次要在純樸的台南仁德鄉駐腳了。可能因為先前在八月結束的台北藝術博覽會上囂張了太用力,所以需要曬曬南部的太陽,在102藝術舒服小巧的空間裡喘口氣……。「雖然都是陽具的變體,大部份卻沒有想著關於性的事情」,呂東興屢屢被問及使用陽具圖像的動機時,總是透露他其實比較傾向政治的批判,只是把罵人的方式轉化詼諧一點而已。所以才能讓不少人在他的陽具恐龍作品前哈哈大笑或是神會莞爾。

不癲不戒(註1) - - 短述呂東興個展【恐龍打手槍】






才在剛落幕不久的台北國際藝術博覽會場上以巨大聳動雕塑引起話題之後,台灣藝術家呂東興在金枝藝術舉辦的首次個展於9月7日盛大開幕,展覽至10月26日。

呂東興早期便以陽具作為創作的主軸語彙,而陽具的使用乃源自於語言上的轉換;呂東興平日慣用台語溝通,而台語普遍又常以性器官作為傳述的假借用詞。將這語言上的假借轉換為圖像,刻意使用被社會規範為沒教養的語言,挑戰在台灣主流社會階層裡對於文雅的既有定義。而,作品永遠跟著創作者的性格走,呂東興天生的幽默、樂觀與熱情,讓他的作品邊帶著批判的隱晦,卻又讓人看了忍不住發笑。
除了那些個劇烈騷動的陽具怪獸,呂東興的<媽媽我愛妳>系列卻呈現了呂東興不同於威猛恐龍的靜謐世界。這系列也包含巨大的作品 <膦神>(註2),這應是呂東興屬於自己的造神紀念,或許也來自於他曾經造塑佛像雕塑的經驗,很自然地便要造一個陽具之神,還圍繞著嬰靈好顯示這神的威武與震懾。另外葉子造型的<媽媽我愛妳>系列,用葉子表徵母親的子宮,而葉子上的陽具變體動物則是這些嬰靈們此生唯一見過的「動物」。(照呂東興的說法,那是嬰靈的父母在行房時唯一可見的生物,因為只見前頭不見尾,這陽具的下半身就只好各憑想像了)

註1:「不癲不戒」台語發音為「put tian put kai」,該詞由描述濟公的隨性風格而來,意為不三不四。
註2: 「膦神」音同台語<懶神>, 膦的正確寫法是「尸」裏加「鱗」去掉「鱗」字的魚(「鱗」去魚上方加尸)取自台華雙語辭典,但電腦無此字,以『膦』代之。
Put tian put kai “(1) – Tung-Hsing Lu’s exhibition {The dinosaur was caught spanking the monkey}
After ending the Art Taipei fair 2008 where just brought up an extensive topic about a giant sculpture, the Taiwanese artist Tung-Hsing Lu starts his first solo exhibition at JIN-ZHI GALLERY in September 7, 2008 and the exhibition will continue till Oct 26, 2008.
In the early work of Tung-Hsing Lu, he already used penis form for his sculpture vocabulary. In deed, the idea of penis form is derived from the use of language conversion. Lu usually speaks Taiwanese as his dialectic language, and Taiwanese language in general often take as a sexual organ to reference the name of the term. Lu deliberately uses this language reference which is defined as uncultured language in the society into his visual aspect. This is a challenge regarding elegant already has the definition in the Taiwan mainstream social class.
Therefore, work forever with artist’s character. Tung-Hsing Lu’s natural humor, optimism and enthusiasm for his work with a critical edge of obscurity, and yet people can not help but laugh read.
Apart from a severe disturbance of the penis dinosaur, Lu’s sculpture serious- “I Love you, mom” but represents Lu’s overwhelming power dinosaur is different from his inner quiet world as well as the work “Cocky king” (2). This should be made of Lu’s own commemoration of God, and perhaps he had made from the experience of making Buddha sculptures and quite naturally will have to create a penis God with also revolves the infant spirit to work demonstrated this god the military might and frightens. Besides, the sculpture serious “I love you, mom” is characterized the mother's womb by the form of leave, and the penis variations of these animals on the leaves are only seen "animal” by infants spirits. (As Lu said, the animal is the only obvious biology when the parents of infants spirits having sexual intercourse. Because it sees only ahead of the end of male genitals, for the rest of body can only be imagined with all.)

呂東興個展 【 恐龍打手槍 8.26-10.26.2008 】


雞冠莿桐蹦開了兩朵小紅花,底下兩隻為愛走天涯的恐龍相約去看池子裡的烏龜家族,沒多遠的前方,蜥蜴大陣仗地往田中間的方向匍伏前進。這炎熱的天,陽光正燦爛著。一不小心看到恐龍在打手槍……。
每次看呂東興熟練地堆土塑型都覺得很過癮,又快又好的功夫一覽無遺。沉沉的量感、飽滿的張力,讓他的作品在這個扁平的世代多了往不同方向去的力量,當大多數人都在往上飛飄的時候,呂東興的雕塑卻要往土地裡穩穩地著力。性格裡的大器、爽朗又細膩,以及一種有著田間稻穗香味的「非都市人質感」,再混以常被他母親叨念說是不癲不戒(註1)的怪誕創作想法,於是便在泥土裡指掌間成形這次首度個展裡的怪誵世界(註2)。
金枝藝術將推出呂東興怪誕不正經的雕塑個展,並於今年八月底的台北國際藝術博覽會同期成為主打。博覽會現場將出現一隻3公尺高、身長6公尺的變體大恐龍,這隻大恐龍是由呂東興2004年作品<為愛走天涯之三>衍伸而來。另外還有限量的「類公仔」供想要入門收藏的藝術愛好者嚐鮮。

Two glans dinosaurs intimately falling in love and running side by side across the world going to look the turtle family in the pond; not far away front, the large lizard weaponry crawls the advance toward the field. This hot summer day, the sunshine bright on the sky and incautiously the dinosaur is caught spanking the monkey…
Each time looked at Tung-Hsing Lu pile of sculpture model with excellent skills, the good time takes in everything at a glance quickly. Lu’s fundamental sculptural techniques create substantial structure and solid strength, which allow him to explore various dimensions beyond the flat horizon of the ordinary world. While most others fixate on aiming to rise above the ground, Tung-Hsing Lu’s sculpture stubbornly strives to root into the deep land below.
In the disposition great talent, frank also is exquisite, as well as one kind has the field ear fragrance“the non-urbanite sense of reality”, again mixes by often been talking by his mother said “put tian put kai” (note 1) weird creation idea in, therefore then the fingers and the palm forms this time in the soil to unfold for the first time the “kuài siâu” world (note 2).
Following our opening ground exhibition in May, we will next be launching Tung-Hsing Lu’s solo exhibition, which will also be part of the Art Taipei Fair in the end of August 2008. Representing Jin-Zhi Glallery in the Art Taipei fair will be a nearly three-meter high and six-meter long giant variant dinosaur originally transformed from the sculpture work of “VELOCIRAPTOR-EXPLORING FOR LOVE 3” by Tung-Hsing Lu in 2004. In addition, there will also be a limited number of “bronze figures” available for collection for entry level collectors.

李詩儀介紹 | About SHIH-YI LEE



李詩儀1979年出生於台北市,2003年台北藝術大學畢業。2004年於台北當代美術館參展「出神入畫」影像聯展,2004年於韓國光州市立美術館參展「愛之維谷-台灣當代繪畫的迴旋曲式」繪畫聯展,2006於韓國及北京參加亞洲藝術家聯展。

1979 born in Taipei Taiwan. 2003 graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts.
In 2004 selected to two group exhibitions「Spellbound Aura The New Vision of Chinese Photography」in Museum of Contemporary Art, Taipei and「Scylla and Charybdis in Love: The Challenges Facing Contemporary Taiwanese Artists」in Gwangju Art Museum, Korea. 2006 joined other Asian artists for exhibitions in Korea and Beijing.

鄭政煌介紹 | About CHENG-HUANG CHENG

鄭政煌1965年生於台灣彰化。1991年畢業於中國文化大學美術系,2002年於國立台北藝術大學美術創作研究所版畫組畢業。1991年首次個展於華岡博物館之後陸續舉辦個展與參與聯展。其作品屢獲大獎,諸如1996年第六屆版畫大獎、1998年台北獎、1999年第九屆中華民國國際版畫及素描雙年展版畫類金牌獎與第六屆的巴黎大獎等多項殊榮。鄭政煌以多元的媒材與呈現樣貌傳遞相當前衛的版畫觀念,所關注的意象也多是生與死的探討。
CHENG-HUANG CHENG
1965 born in Changhua Taiwan. 1991 graduated from Department of Fine Art, Chinese Culture University. 2002 graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts, The Graduate School of Fine Arts, majored in printmaking. In 1991, after his first solo exhibition at Hwa Kang Museum, he keeps on having solo or group exhibitions. His works won several grand prizes, such as 1996 The 6th Annual Printmaking Award, 1998 Taipei Award, Gold Medal of 1999 The 9th International Biennial Print & Drawing Exhibition Taipei, and The 6th Annual Grand Award of Prix De Paris. Cheng is well in using all kinds of media to present a new conception of print art.

黃步青介紹 | About BUH-CHING HWANG


黃步青1948年生於台灣彰化鹿港,現任教於成功大學建築系,法國巴黎大學造型藝術碩士。擅長使用水、木、草、鐵等這些原生材料或已去功能的物質做為媒材,在畫、立體造型、多媒體藝術、環境藝術等多元創作形式上呈現某種宗教情懷的神秘意識。1990年首次個展,此後每年定期推出聯展與個展多次。1998年展出 「凝視與形塑-後二二八世代的歷史觀察」於台北市立美術館,1999年受邀以「野宴」代表台灣參加威尼斯雙年展。

BUH-CHING HWANG
1948 born in Changhua Taiwan. Currently teaches at Department of Architecture, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. Master's degree, Department of Plastic Arts, University of Paris St-Denis, France. He uses raw materials such as water, wood, grass and iron or dysfunctional materials as media to work in painting, three-dimensional modeling, multimedia, environment art and so on. Those multiple creations are capable of presenting certain religious and mystical feelings. In 1990 unfolded for the first solo exhibition, since then solo and group exhibitions were holding these years. In 1998 selected to「Reflection and Reconsideration: 228 Commemorative Exhibition」Taipei Fine Arts Museum, 1999 represented Taiwan for The 48th Venice Biennial.

李錦繡介紹 | About JIIN-SHIOW LII


李錦繡
李錦繡1953年生於台灣嘉義。1972-76年國立台灣師範大學美術系畢業。1984年入法國文化部所屬國立 巴黎高等裝飾藝術學院造形藝術第二階段(碩士)空間藝術部,畢業時獲得「塔龍斯」首獎。1986年畢業返國定居台南,兼任現國立台南大學美術系講師。2001-03年獨居工作室,2003年病逝台南成大醫院安寧病房。李錦繡擅長以平面繪畫表現空間的穿透與重置、色彩的精準拿捏(尤其擅於處理中間色調)以及線條的靈動。自1977年起,曾與同儕創自由畫會、現代眼畫會、麒麟畫會、2號公寓等。

LII JIIN-SHIOW
1953 born in Chiayi Taiwan. 1976 graduated from the Department of Art, National Taiwan Normal University. 1984 graduated from L’Ecole Nationale Superieure Des Arts-Decoratifs and won the first prize of Prix Talens. 1986 after graduation settled down in Tainan and as a lecturer in Department of Art, National University of Tainan. 2001-2003 lived alone in her studio, 2003 passed away in National Cheng Kung University Hospital Hospice. Lii’s paintings showed penetration and reconstruction of space, precise measurement of color (especially mid-tone) and nimble flows of lines, those were her excellence. From 1977, found several painting associations such as Liberty, Modern Eyes, Kylin and Apartment No.2 with her generation.

陳永賢介紹|About YUNG-HSIEN CHEN


1965年生於台灣。現於國立台灣藝術大學多媒體動畫藝術系暨研究所擔任專任助理教授。分別在1989年與1994畢業於國立台北藝術大學美術系創作組與美術研究所藝術史組,於2004年取得英國布萊頓大學藝術與傳播研究所藝術博士資格。1982年於台首度個展灣之後陸續舉辦個展與參與國內外聯展。並於1994年獲加拿大楓葉獎國際大展新人銅楓獎,以及在2002年榮獲英國貝克獎(錄像藝術)。

1965 born in Taiwan. Currently is an assistant professor of Department of Multimedia and Animation Art, National Taiwan University of Art. In 1989 and 1994 graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts with B.F.A and M.A Fine Art degrees. In 2004 Chen got his PhD of Arts and Communication from The University of Brighton, UK. In 1982, after first solo exhibition in Taiwan, he keeps on having solo or group exhibitions throughout the world and won several international awards, in 1994 The Maple Leaf Award of Bronze Maple in Canada and 2002 Back's Futures Prize for Film and Video in UK.

黃進河介紹|About Chin-Ho Hung


黃進河
黃進河1956生於台灣嘉義,他的創作靈感來自台灣在地次文化的啟迪,並且以一種超巨大的尺幅,召喚存在於民間駁雜的宗教、習俗及傳統記憶。他的巨型繪畫永遠都是充塞擁擠,作品中光怪陸離的意象、雜紛且荒謬的物慾,都是來自於他對社會價值模型及環境變異的觀察與研究,並且以誇張的民俗宗教符碼、荒誕不經的文化異象,反映台灣艷俗文化草莽卻又難以自制的生猛力道。

CHIN-HO HUANG
1956 born in Chiayi Taiwan. His inspiration comes from Taiwanese local subculture, and use giant scale to summoned religion, custom, and traditional memory that exist in the public. His huge paintings are always crowded, and images are in grotesque shapes with gaudy colors, these ideas come form his observation and investigation of social value, as well as environment differentiation. Use exaggerated religion symbols and chimerical culture images to reflect the vulgarness of Taiwanese culture and yet it’s an explosive raw power.
